Hi, I'm Abolore also known as the ThrifteeRN. As you guessed, I am a full-time nurse who loves to shop! But I like a good discount too!
I became the ThrifteeRN about 1 year ago when I was going through my closet, purging, and donating clothes to the women's shelter. But an idea came to me instead. Yes donating is great but I would like to make some extra cash and decided to start a Poshmark account.
On Poshmark I could sell my gently worn clothes and accessories. So that's what I did. I even got my mother involved and started getting her clothes too! I had to come up with a name fast, so the ThrifteeRN was born! Since then I decided to get invested and make this a part-time hustle by opening two more closets on Vinted and Depot. So now I'm busy with a total of three (3) closets and doing pretty well.
Then I decided to branch off a little more and create a BLOG just for thrifty shoppers like you and me. And you are reading it now! Let me officially welcome you to the ThrifteeRN Blog!

The ThrifteeRN Blog Is All Things "Thrifty"
The ThrifteeRN Blog was created for those of us to like bargain shopping and choose to use discounted shopping apps or sites to save money. Whether it's money, clothes, things for the home, etc. everyone nowadays is shopping on a shoestring budget. We are clipping coupons, shopping on days when we can get extra discounts, and watching closely when things go on sale just to save a few $$$$ along the way.
Our wallets and pocketbooks (purses) are getting tight and bargain shopping is at its highest level ever. An estimated 272 million Americans now buy and/or sell secondhand (Yahoo Finance, 2023). That means about 93% of Americans are now shopping at or for second-hand items. And in doing my research I found that second-hand shopping is also a great way to earn money and it doesn't require you to do much.
Simply gather your gently used items to sell, find a good site to upload your photos, and set your price, and if the price is right people will buy. In the ThrifteeRN Blog, I will be giving you some tips to help you bargain shop and take the worry out of finding that item you want or need.
Each week you will get to learn a little more about me and why I am choosing to help you find that deal or bargain and still leave you with a few dollars to hang on to! I will even be giving you first dibs on items in my closet you can purchase just by reading this BLOG! YEP! You get a peak and first grab before I put it out there to the public.
